#9 BYU tops #4 San Diego State

#9 BYU (20-1, 6-0 MWC) defeated #4 San Diego State (20-1, 5-1 MWC) last night by a score of 71-58 last night in one of the more highly anticipated match-ups to date in the college basketball season. BYU guard Jimmer Fredette was once again the story, pouring in 43 points for the Cougars. He seemed like he couldn't miss for a while and really carried the Cougars all night long. BYU students rushed the floor following the win.

It was a raucous environment all night and San Diego State actually hung in the game pretty well and seemed to execute pretty well until the closing minutes. As Gary Parrish of CBS said, it would have been tough for any team in the country to win in that environment last night. More thoughts on this later as I have to run now.

  2. So I'm guessing you would enjoy it if I blogged about the Cougars' loss to New Mexico?
